Questo dipinto è iniziato come un paesaggi ( foto sotto) in acrilico , ma non mi piaceva ed ho pensato di dipingere sopra ad olio le due teiere e tenere il paesaggio come sfondo . Devo ancora aggiungere qualche ombra, ma la composizione mi piace decisamente di più ora.

This painting started as a landscape,( photo below )  in acrylic but I didn't like it , so I got the idea of painting these two tea pots on top ( in oil) and keep the landscape as  the background.  I still need to put some shadows here and there , but I do like the composition better now.

I actually started this painting last summer, but didn't finish it until now. And I have many other half-finished works lying in a bundle...maybe it is time to start finishing some of them....What about you, do you always finish a work before starting another one ?

Questo lavoro l'ho iniziato l'estate scorso, ma l'ho finito solo adesso. In effetti ho parecchi altri lavori  in un mucchio fatti a metà....ma forse sarebbe ora di finire un po le cose iniziate.....E voi finite sempre un lavoro prima di iniziare un 'altro ?

Playing with YUPO / Giocando con YUPO

If somebody tells you that painting on YUPO paper is difficult...believe them ! Renate  had a 'give away' with YUPO  and she sent me two sheets to try it .... with the condition to post the results :-)  I was so frustrated in the beginning, because you really don't control ANYTHING ! The water just flows around the paper , and until you  kind of get an idea about how it works it really puts your patience to a limit ! BUT, when you finally start to 'get the feeling' it is a funny and different way to paint,  and I am glad I tried it . These two first paintings could surely be better , I would need much more  practice  , but a big thank you Renate for giving me the opportunity to try it !

Se qualquno  vi dice che dipingere sulla carta YUPO è difficile....credigli ! Renate mi ha mandato due fogli di questa carta per provarla ..... con la condizione di postare il risultato :-) Quanta frustrazione all'inizio , perche non controlli proprio NIENTE ! L'acqua si muove in modo incontrollabile sulla carta, e finche non cominci a capire come funziona, mette davvero la tua pazienza a dura prova ! MA, quando finalmente ci arrivi diventa un vero divertimento , e sono molto contenta di averlo provato . Questi due primi dipinti potrebbero essere molto meglio, ci vorrebbe tanta esercizio ancora, ma ringrazio Renate per avermi data l'opportunità di provare.

Questo è un autoritratto dipinto da una foto scattata nei ' Kew Gardens' a Londra l'anno scorso. Ovviamente intanto che c'ero mi sono tolta un paio di anni e mi sono vestita come una dama dell'8oo :-)) In fondo è un epoca che mi piace per molti motivi :-)

This is a self portrait painted from a photo made in the 'Kew Gardens ' in London last year. Obviously  ( because I could :-) )I cancelled a few years from my face and painted the dress as if it were a lady from the 1800, a period I quite love for a lot of reasons :-)
