.... un blocco di carta per acquerelli, tengo sempre l'ultimo pezzo in cartone, in quanto può servire per inviare acquerelli per posta proteggendoli, oppure , come qui per dipingere ad olio. Il cartone assorba parecchio, per cui prima di iniziare il dipinto  faccio qualche strato di 'sotto pittura', con l'acrilico oppure anche con olio molto diluito, e lo lascio asciugare per bene, in questo modo mi trovo una superficie bella pronta. Spero che questo possa servire a qualcuno .

.......a block of watercolor I always keep the cardboard in the end, I use it for when I send watercolor paintings with the snail mail to protect them, or like here to paint in oil. Cardboard does absorb a lot, so before starting the real painting I do some underpainting, it can be acrylics or well diluted oil, I let it dry completely, and I find myself a perfect surface to paint on. Hope this can be of  interest to somebody.

La mia intenzione era quella di dipingere un'astratto, ma non è venuto fuori bene, perciò ho tramutato il  'pasticcio' in un vaso con fiori  :-)

The intention was to paint an abstract, but the result was terrible , so I changed the mess into a vase with flowers :-)

Ho eseguito questo sketch da una foto dell'attrice Scarlet Johansson , ma come potete ben vedere, la somiglianza è ben poca....

I did this sketch with a reference photo of the actress Scarlet Johansson, but as you can see, there is no great  likeness ....

Nuvola di Fumo / Cloud of Smoke

Questo dipinto è stato una vera sfida essendo un soggetto molto diverso dalle mie solite, ma mi sono divertita tantissimo a creare questa nuvola di fumo. Contrariamente a quello che credevo il fumo non è grigio e basta , ma è fatto di tante sfumature di colore.

This painting was a real challenge being the subject quite different from what I am used to painting, but I had a lot of fun creating this cloud of smoke, and contrary to what I thought, smoke is not only grey, but full of nuances of colors.
