Acquerello/Watercolor 46 x 62 cm |
Bottles have always been one of my favorite subjects in painting which you can see by scrolling my posts. I think they leave you with such a great freedom of interpretation with shapes and colors, and the one here in watercolor has been treated with salt to get this 'special effect' like small flowers.
Sono bellissimi Jane, l'olio èmolto realistico. Buona domenica,a presto, Barbara
RispondiEliminaYour bottles are beautiful, Jane! It is truly a great subject for experimenting special effects. The second one with the salt effect is amazing!
RispondiEliminaBeautiful Jane Both of them. But my favorite is the second one, your watercolor painting, marvelous.
RispondiEliminahave a nice Sunday and lovely greet
Marja
Te he conocido a través de Dale al pincel y he de decirte que tienes unas acuarelas preciosas. Saludos.
RispondiEliminaBeautiful!
RispondiEliminaHello Jane! How nice the effect with salt is! It gives the painting an old look. Beautiful! In the first one I like the reflection of the light en the reflection of the bottles on the table very much. Great job!
RispondiEliminabellissimi giochi di cromie, preferisco l'olio.
RispondiEliminaciao e buona giornata
Both paintings are beautiful Jane! The salt effect definitely gives a vintage look to the bottles and the oil painting has richness in colour and highlights.Bravo!
RispondiEliminaBeautiful paintings! The light in the bottles is very well painted.
RispondiEliminaanche preferisco l'olio per le colori!
RispondiEliminaBravo!
Hai giocato alla grande Jane..continua a giocare!!! Complimenti
RispondiEliminaThe watercolor using salt technique...very beautiful! I used to like to paint bottles too...haven't done bottles in years...great things to paint...no matter what the medium!
RispondiEliminaI love your bottle pieces....they are always so artistic and creative.
RispondiEliminaBesitos y feliz semana.
I quickly looked a the photo only of the top one, and thought "What unbelievably rich watercolor. I must ask Jane how she did that." Then I read it was an oil!! Joke is on me!! They are both wonderful, Jane!! And there ARE beautiful and rich colors in the oil.
RispondiEliminaPreciosas pinturas. Mis felicitaciones.
RispondiEliminaMuchos saludos!!!!!
beautiful work with these bottles
RispondiEliminalove your paintings
Buen trabajo.
RispondiEliminaSaludos
Nobody "bottles" like you do, Jane--oil or watercolor.
RispondiEliminaYesterday's tree with fence was beautifully painted, too.
I've always liked your paintings of vases and bottles in watercolor, and now a different and so beautiful interpretation in oil! The surface of the bottles is so amazing, as if I am looking at the glazing of real ceramic objects.
RispondiEliminaThanks for your nice comments Jane. Your bottles are lovely, gorgeous colors!! I like the salt effect on the watercolor too.
RispondiEliminaI love your bottles and now oil.... cool. I think the salt effect is interesting. I was reading a splash # watercolor painting book once and i recall an artist that put his watercolor in the SHOWE?? to creat texture. The paintings were very wonderful... happy painting.
RispondiEliminathat was shower.... sorry about that
RispondiEliminaHola Jane.
Grazie Barbara mi fa piacere che apprezzi :-) Ciaoo
RispondiEliminaJudy and Marja I am glad you like the salty bottles, I didn't really think anything of them until my daughter said she loved them :-)
Mariamanual sei gentilissima, grazie mille!
Thanks Robin!
Hi Renate, salt is a very interesting mean to use, the only thing is that you need some patience for it to dry up..maybe 7-8 hours....not my strong side :-)
Grazie Simo - ciaoo!
Azra and Jennifer thanks for your generous comments !
Grazie Zazou!
Ciao Carla, niente mi fermerà :-)) Buona giornata!
Absolutely so Theanne!
Hi Cynnie, glad you think so . Keep warm!!!
jane love the rich combination of colours in the oil jane ...beautiful patterns in the watercolour bottles
J'aime beaucoup.
RispondiEliminaI've got salt in the studio, but have yet to use it. Now I will. Your salted bottles do have a lovely old look to them--but I do love the colors of the ones above--very rich, great smooth texture Jane. I'll have to start collecting and give this subject a try.
RispondiEliminaEspectaculares trabajos. Me gusta el tratamiento del color. Felicidades.
RispondiEliminaUn beso.
My first reaction to both pieces was "Wow!" The first has so much vibrant colors.. Awesome reflections making it very realistic...the second is outstanding and beautiful results using the salt! Love them both!
Saludos
Love them both, but I'm always partial to the rich colors of oil. Wonderful job on both.
RispondiEliminaJane,
RispondiEliminaI wish I could read all the comments! I need to brush up on my language skills-maybe reading your blog will help!
I love both versions-oil and watercolor. They work so well because you love the subject and that always shows. The use of salt is fun and adds such texture to the painting!
Katherine, I love the richness of the color that oil provides, difficult to obtain the same with watercolor, so lately I paint with both medias. Big hug!
Ciaooo

Frances , I really enjoyed playing with the oil color in these bottles!
Michelle, there is a 'Translater' on top of my blog, you can use it to translate everything into english . I am very happy you like these two works!
Knus
Caro Alberto.
Both have their own beauty.. your painting collection of bottles and pots are very stylish..Jane, they are just beautiful!
RispondiEliminaLovely bottles - I agree, it is beautiful motive. Playing with bottles is to play with light - the only thing in our world that really matters...
RispondiEliminaLindos trabalhos!
