Ortensie Secche / Dried Hydrangeas

Olio su tela / Oil on canvas 25 c 35 cm

Years ago a friend offered me this bouquet of dried hydrangeas  from her garden , and though a bit faded the colors still remain,  and I can't get myself to throwing them out even though they are probably quite dusty by now . I find hydrangeas particularly fascinating when dry.
Hope you  had a great Easter , and wish you a nice start of the week.

  10. Yes Jane - dried Hydrangeas are so lovely and you have captured their subtle hues so beautifully. We had a tree close by in the cemetery near our old church and my friend and I would pick them and dry them. Hope you had the best Easter. Have a great week.

    groetjes,

  30. These last two floral paintings are both so beautiful, while quite different in style - the first so textured and the second, so delicately smooth in its pastel tones.

    1. Ok I will have to,admit it, I am jealous. I am lucky enough to,have several hydrangea bushes, so I get them both love and dry. I have tried to do in several media and I can't get this. Darn I love the looseness, but you got the impact and it reads hydrangea
