Mostra a Menaggio ( Exposition in Menaggio )

Cari amici blogger.
Insieme all'amico Tito Fornasiero   (http://bluoltremare.blogspot.com/ )abbiamo organizzato una mostra di acquerello a Menaggio, che va dal 3 al 8  di Maggio. Sarò perciò assente tutta la settimana in quanto mi fermerò lì per tutta la durata. Mi mancheranno i nostri scambi di commenti, ma spero di vedervi numerosi lì :-)

Dear blogger friends.
Together with my friend Tito Fornasiero (http://bluoltremare.blogspot.com/) we are having a watercolor exposition in Menaggio, going from the 3rd till the 8th of May.  I shall be absent all week as I will  stay in Menaggio for the duration of the exposition, will miss our exchange of comments, but of course I hope to see  you all there :-)

Il titolo non si riferisce tanto al mio stato di salute mentale quanto alla gioia di fare un dipinto in totale libertà, senza schemi o modelli...Il mio primo astratto, ma sicuramente non l'ultimo!


The title doesn't refer to my mental state of mind , but to the joy of making a painting in absolute freedom and without schemes...my first abstract, but for sure not the last!

Mostra di Belgioioso ( The Exhibition in Belgioioso )

Sabato 16 aprile  ho partecipato alla mostra di acquerello  che L'AIA ( Associazione Italiana Acquerellisti)  insieme al comune di Belgioioso ha organizzato nella suggestiva vicinanza del  Castello di Belgioioso   (Pavia ). Giornata bellissima e soleggiata con grande afflusso di pubblico. Il sindaco di Belgioioso ha  aperto la mostra con il taglio del nastro.
Mi scuso per la prima foto che  ho caricato in modo  sbagliato, e non sono riuscita a metterlo in modo  giusto!  ( Guardare chinando la testa :-).

Saturday  16th of april I took part  in the watercolor exhibition organized by The Italian Watercolor Association  together with  the Municipal of Belgioioso  near the very suggestive Castle of Belgioioso ( Pavia ). Beautiful and sunny day with a lot of affluence of people. The Mayor of Belgioioso  opened the exhibition by cutting the ribbon.

Mostra all ' AIA ( Exhibition at the AIA )

" Dal Novembre 2010 faccio parte dell'AIA ( Associazione Italiana Acquerellisti ), e ieri,  sabato 2 aprile  ho partecipato ad una mostra organizzato in collaborazione con il Comune di Milano.

Since November 2010 I have been part of The Italian Watercolor Association, and yesterday, 2nd of april I took part in an exhibition organized together with The Municipality of Milan.

Ultimamente sto cercando di mettere un po in ordine nei miei lavori  degli anni passati, alcuni vengono buttati senza pietà, ed altri vengono messi nella pila dei  " si può migliorare ", e questo acquerello fa arte dell'ultimo gruppo. Dipinto l'anno scorso, andava un po ritoccato , dato un po di contrasto,  ora non mi dispiace...voi che dite?

Lately I have been trying to put some order in my older paintings, some are thrown out without mercy, and some are put in the pile of the "could be better"...this watercolor is part of the last group. It was painted last year, and it needed a few  more strokes and some contrast, and now  I think it is ok...what do YOU think?

Quando sono un po a corto d'ispirazione prendo il mio grande libro del mare, e lì trovo sempre qualcosa che stuzzica  la fantasia..questo è l'ultimo sforzo.

When I'm feeling short of inspiration, I pull out my big book regarding the sea, and I always find something that will trigger my fantasy..this is my latest effort.

Waiting for the Tide ( Aspettando la Marea )

Years ago I spent a lot of time in The Isles of Guernsey  and Jersey, and one thing so characteristic and beautiful about those places was the low tide...at certain hours of the day, you would find all the boats in the harbour "stranded"...waiting for the tide.  A sight that always fascinated me.


Anni fa ho passato molto tempo nelle isole Guernsey e Jersey, ed una delle cose così caratteristiche e belle di queste isole era la marea bassa...in certe ore della giornata ci si ritrovava con le barche nel porto tutte sul fondo....aspettando la marea. Una visione che mi ha sempre affascinata.
